I'm an ordinary person, just like you. I'm a perfectionist by nature, I like control, and I'd rather binge my favorite tv show instead of loading the dishwasher. I often find myself impatient with my kids over missing socks and messy rooms, and I have this terrible habit of looking down on people who don't see things the same way that I do. Despite my valiant attempts with pretty day planners and multi-colored sharpies, I don't have it all together, even though I wish I did. I can totally relate to Paul in Romans 7 when he writes, "The moment I decide to do good, sin is there to trip me up! I truly delight in God's commands, but it's pretty obvious that not all of me joins in that delight." (vs. 21-23, MSG) 

Here's the thing though- my story doesn't end there, and neither does yours. We each have a narrative to tell of God's redemption and grace in our lives that is truly extraordinary if we stop to think about His love for us in the midst of our mess. My hope and prayer is that when you visit this space you find stories of encouragement and hope that point you to Jesus, help you to pause to see the beauty and purpose that God brings to each ordinary day, and perhaps even find the courage to share your stories, too.
